How to Book and Install HSRP:

1. Visit the Official Websites: Vehicle owners need to log on to the Transport Department's official website transport.karnataka.gov.in or SIAM's official website siam.in.

2. Selection of the Manufacturer: Customer needs to select their vehicle manufacturer from the provided options.

3. Enter Basic Vehicle Details: Customer have to fill in basic vehicle details. This information pertains to the age, make, and model of the vehicle.

4. Choose Dealer Location: Customer has to choose a dealer location that is convenient for the affixation of the HSRP.

5. Online Payment: The HSRP fee has to be paid online. No cash payments will be accepted for this process.

6. Receive OTP: Upon submission of the form and payment, an OTP will be sent to the mobile number provided by the customer.

7. Book Date and Time: Customer can choose a suitable date and time for the affixation of the HSRP at their chosen location.

8. Affixation of HSRP: The HSRP can be affixed at the customer's office premises, home, or any preferred location.

Customers are advised to only avail these services through the designated official websites. Any plates that resemble HSRPs, but lack features such as the official hologram or engraved word 'INDIA', are considered illegal.

Deadline and Legal Implications

The deadline for the installation of HSRP on all vehicles registered before April 1, 2019, is November 17, 2023. Failure to comply by this date is liable to bring fines.

Additionally, transacting in the RTO office, which includes change of ownership, address, hypothecation agreement, fitness renewal, etc., will not be permitted without HSRP installation.

In case a customer presents a valid receipt for HSRP within 30 days of the appointment date, they will not have to pay a fine.
