Kia Carens Facelift to Launch in India by Mid-2025

Kia India is set to launch the Kia Carens facelift in India by mid-2025, according to exclusive reports. Recent spy shots of the Carens facelift, taken during test drives in India and overseas, reveal exciting updates that enthusiasts can anticipate from this mid-cycle refresh.

Kia Carens Facelift Exterior Highlights

Although specific details from the latest spy shots are limited, one noticeable change is the new alloy wheel design. Previous images of the Kia Carens facelift indicated redesigned headlamps that resemble those of newer Kia models, characterized by a light bar connecting them. This design choice will align the Carens with the Kia family look, drawing parallels to the Kia Sonet and Kia Seltos. Additionally, the rear-end is expected to showcase changes with newly shaped tail-lamps featuring a C-shaped LED signature.

Kia Carens Facelift Interior and Features

Details surrounding the interior of the Kia Carens facelift are still emerging, but it is expected to see minimal changes apart from new upholstery and color options. The features list is anticipated to broaden, including significant additions like a 360-degree camera and an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite—marking a segment-first innovation in this competitive class.

Kia Carens Facelift Powertrain

Mechanically, the Carens facelift will retain the existing engine options from the current model. Available engines include a 115hp, 1.5-liter naturally aspirated variant, a 160hp, 1.5-liter turbo-petrol option, and a 116hp, 1.5-liter diesel engine. Transmission options will likely consist of a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, a 6-speed torque converter automatic, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Kia Carens Facelift Price Estimate and Rivals

Currently, the Kia Carens is priced between Rs 10.52 lakh and Rs 19.94 lakh. The facelift model will incur a price increase, especially with the introduction of higher-spec trims equipped with ADAS features. The Carens will continue to stand against rivals like the Maruti Ertiga (priced Rs 8.69 lakh-13.03 lakh), XL6 (Rs 11.61 lakh-14.61 lakh), and Toyota Rumion (Rs 10.44 lakh-13.73 lakh).

Furthermore, there will be competition with 7-seater SUVs such as the Hyundai Alcazar (Rs 16.78 lakh-21.28 lakh), MG Hector Plus (Rs 17.30 lakh-22.93 lakh), and Tata Safari (Rs 15.49 lakh-27.34 lakh).

Kia has also begun work on the Kia Carens EV (codenamed: KY-EV) for India, although its introduction is expected to be later than that of the facelift.

All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi.
