MG Motor India has teased the upcoming Cloud EV ahead of its festive season launch, showcasing its modern interior features and sleek exterior design.
MG Cloud EV Teased: Interior and Features Unveiled
Just a month after the last round of India-spec MG Cloud spy shots surfaced online, new teaser images have emerged, providing more details on the upcoming electric vehicle (EV). MG Motor India has released a new teaser of the Cloud before revealing its prices during this year’s festive season.
- Cloud for India to get two screens, steering-mounted controls, and more
- Minimalist dashboard with horizontal creases over AC vents
- New teaser shows LED light bar and sleek headlights
MG Cloud Interior and Features
While most of the dashboard is covered, some intriguing elements can still be picked out. It appears that the India-spec Cloud EV will feature a fully digital instrument cluster alongside a large, floating infotainment touchscreen, similar to the model available in Indonesia, where it is sold under the Wuling brand name. Additional visible features include a two-spoke steering wheel with controls for the infotainment system and a minimalist dashboard design with horizontal slats covering all four AC vents.
The teaser hints at an exciting addition—a sunroof. Given that the Cloud is designed as a pure EV, it offers advantages in interior packaging that should enhance the spaciousness for this 5-seater. The model also showcases fully reclinable front seats for a luxurious ‘sofa mode’, circular door-mounted speakers, a 360-degree camera, and an ADAS suite. However, it remains to be seen which of these features will be included in the India-specific variant of the Cloud.
MG Cloud Exterior and Design
According to the teaser, the Cloud will boast slim all-LED headlights and an LED light bar on the front that connects the headlight units. The MG logo is prominently illuminated, adding to the modern aesthetics.
Previous spy shots indicated that the Cloud's overall silhouette resembles a blend between an MPV and a hatchback. However, MG Motor India describes it as a CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle). The exterior design leans towards minimalism, featuring flush door handles, clean surfaces, and full-width LED light bars at both the front and back. The large glasshouse and extended quarter glass sections further enhance its appeal, complemented by sharply raked front and rear windscreens.
MG Cloud Battery and Range
While detailed battery specifications for the India model remain undisclosed, the international versions of the Cloud come equipped with two battery options: a 37.9kWh variant offering 360 km of range and a 50.6kWh option providing up to 460 km. Both configurations are powered by a front axle-mounted electric motor that delivers 134 hp.
MG Cloud Pricing and Rivals
As previously reported, MG Motor India is targeting a sub-Rs 20 lakh price tag for the Cloud EV at its festive season launch. This positions the vehicle between the MG Comet and ZS EV, allowing it to compete with compact electric SUVs such as the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400. Achieving this aggressive pricing will necessitate extensive localization efforts, particularly in battery manufacturing.
Stay tuned for more updates on the MG Cloud EV as we approach its launch!
