The Mystery Unfolds: Kia EV4, the Electric Kia Seltos Equivalent, Revealed?

Hold on to your bucket hats, folks. We have some fresh scuttlebutt from the buzzing streets of South Korea. Rumour has it that Kia might finally be pulling the cover off its long-teased small electric SUV, the 2024 Kia EV4. Our in-house birdies inform us this could be the electric equivalent of the popular Kia Seltos.

Unraveling the Mystery of Kia EV4

This story begins in early 2021, when Kia released a dimly lit teaser of an electric SUV prototype that left us all playing the guessing game. Now, spy pics have surfaced on the Instagram account Shorts Car, showing a small electric SUV undergoing testing in South Korea.

Although, official plans for the EV4 are yet to be rubber-stamped by Kia, word on the street suggests this enigma on wheels has been in production since 2021. But let's keep that between you, me and the keyboard for now.

The shadowy mystery machine ticks many boxes when it comes to the design elements we’ve seen in Kia’s electric line-up – the EV6 and EV9. It casts a boxy, upright silhouette with some serious hints at the same sharp kink at the top of the C-pillar behind the rear doors, just like the figure in the 2021 teaser image.

A Blend of Kia Classics?

There seems to be some interesting mix-n-match happening with this potential EV4 prototype as well. We’re seeing everything from a C-pillar that harks back to the teaser image, to side mirrors borrowed from the Kia Niro. And wait till you spot the wheels – they look like they’ve been lifted straight off a Kia Sorento!

The eagle-eyed among you might also notice a strikingly similar pattern in the headlights to the full-size Kia EV9 electric SUV. Is this a hint at the family lineage or just a tease? Dare we hope for both?

While still not definite, it's expected that the EV4 will be positioned between the Kia Seltos and Kia Sportage in size. Or, in layman terms, it's like the middle Goldilocks – it's not too big, not too small, it's just right!

Kia EV4: The Next Big Thing?

The evolving landscape of the automotive industry has seen a shift of focus to electric vehicles. The upcoming EV4 not only represents Kia's commitment to this cause but also marks an enticing blend of Kia’s time-tested design philosophies with forward-thinking innovation.

With its probable launch in the coming months, the 2024 Kia EV4 might very well create an exciting stir in the compact SUV segment. For now, let's just enjoy the thrill of anticipation while we wait for Kia to unveil the unexpected. Electric surprises are on the cards, and this might just be the Joker!

Stay tuned for more on this buzz-worthy upcoming release, as we bring you the second part of this electric saga. Up next on Motomall: insights into Kia’s green mobility strategy, potential architectures for the Kia EV4, and what exactly that intricate pattern in the headlights means!

Kia's Greener Pastures

This takes us to the heart of Kia's focus on creating a sustainable future. In line with other Asian automakers such as Toyota and Lexus, Kia is working tirelessly to maintain the limelight on their product range. More importantly though, they are delving deep into their strategy for sustainable mobility.

Who can forget Hyundai's recent teleportation spree through the Spider-verse with its Ioniq EV family? Hyundai is not just partnering with the regular motley crew of superheroes but even Sony's latest animations featuring our favourite wallcrawler, Spider-Man. Kia, however, is playing it close to the real world – both with their products and the rumour mill.

The Leaning Towards Green: Kia EV4

The EV4, rumoured to be based on the E-GMP platform, is likely to showcase the same 800-volt electric-vehicle architecture used in the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and 6, and Genesis GV60. However, some speculate it might instead feature a cheaper chassis to keep the costs down – either the upcoming EV5 SUV or the next-generation 'IMA' framework planned for up-and-coming Kia and Hyundai electric cars.

The IMA setup is pitched as an evolution of the E-GMP platform, but it is designed to accommodate varying standardised battery packs and electric motors based on the model. If speculation rings true, the switch from the E-GMP to the IMA platforms could explain the delay in getting the EV4 from its initial announcement in 2021 to now.

As of now, concrete details regarding the Kia EV4 remain sparse. However, considering it's being rumored to be undergoing road tests already, it's safe to say the unveiling could be just around the corner!

The Future of Kia: Electric and Exciting

Indeed, the future looks electric with Kia steering full speed ahead into eco-friendly innovation. The company has hinted at a lineup that includes some powerful players like the compact EV4 and the allegedly fully transformed Kia Stinger. An electric model sneakily codenamed GT1, has got our creative juices flowing with anticipation.

The electric vehicle discussion is heating up, and we at MotoMall are here for it. With the release of the Kia EV4 looming large, we've got our eyes eagerly set on the horizon. While Kia continues its journey towards sustainable mobility, we promise to keep you plugged into every exciting update.

Kia EV4 Launch

In conclusion, while we may have to wait a few more moons for the official Kia EV4 announcement, the potential it holds is undeniably tantalizing. So, buckle up and ready your plugs folks, for the electric revolution is here, and it's sporting a Kia badge!
